Keith Calvert Martin of McLean, Virginia passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on April 10, 2025. He was 69 years old. Keith was born on July 14, 1955 in Washington DC to Carolyn and Dean Martin. He grew up in McLean and spent his professional life as a zoning and land use attorney in Northern Virginia.
He graduated from Wake Forest University in 1977, then received his Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest School of Law in 1981. As the father of four children, he was a self-proclaimed sports dad, loyally following games from little league all the way to the college level. Despite his allegiance to his Wake Forest Demon Deacons, his 4 children, all of whom went to the University of Virginia, made him an honorary Wahoo. He was a member of St Luke’s Catholic Church in McLean, member of the Virginia Bar Association, and a Life Board Member and former president of the Fairfax Chapter of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association, as well as a life-long resident of McLean. Keith dedicated hundreds of volunteer hours to McLean Little League, McLean Mustang Football, McLean Youth Soccer, and CYO Basketball.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Carolyn Calvert Martin and Dean Harrington Martin of McLean, Virginia. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Loftus Martin; daughter Julia Martin Fleury and son in law Dr. Christopher Fleury; daughter Lindsey Martin Antell and son in law Darrick Antell; son James Calvert Harrington Martin and daughter in law Caitlin Mills Martin; daughter Lauren Martin and sister Jane A. Martin; as well as granddaughters Molly and Claire Fleury and Annie Martin. He is also survived by his constant companion Ollie, his beloved dog.
The family would like to express gratitude for Keith’s lifelong friends John Oliver Beckner, George Cosper Scafidi, and Kevin Fay.
A Celebration of Keith Martin’s life will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church in Mclean, Virginia at 11:00 am Friday, April 25th.
