
Born on August 20, 1951, Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Holly, and their children: Michael (Jennifer), Theresa, Jennifer (Wes), Stephanie, Brian (Melissa); grandchildren: Addison, Parker, Austin, Ashur, Quinton, Kylie, Eowyn, Anakin, McKenzie, Keegan, Maddie, and Declan; siblings: Jerry, John, Kathleen; and his beloved cat, NyGil. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Mary Ellen McKibben; in-laws, Everett and Betty Evenson; brothers, Eddie and Jim; son-in-law, Jason Campbell.
Though a Colorado native, Kevin grew up in Dallas, Texas where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture at The University of Texas at Arlington. In 1986, Kevin and his family put down roots in Northern Virginia where he had a successful career in General Contracting. He was an avid member at Park Valley Church, where he was deeply involved in missions, Celebrate Recovery, and Men’s Ministry.
Always one for adventure, Kevin enjoyed multiple interests throughout his life. He loved navigating the Chesapeake Bay at the helm of his vessel the Grey Goose. He loved making sailors of family and friends and sunset dinghy rides with Holly, his life-time First Mate. Kevin was an excellent craftsman known for his love of woodworking. He also enjoyed coaching softball, cheering on the Capitals, and was a self-proclaimed World Champion Blackstone Grill Master. His many hobbies included traveling with Holly and teaching his grandchildren, whom he adored deeply, how to play solitaire the correct way, with a deck of cards.
Kevin's life was marked by his faith in Jesus, commitment to his family, and love for his community.
He knew life was short and lived it to the full. Though his life on earth has concluded, his legacy will continue for generations.
