Michael "Mike" Frederick Johnson

Michael Frederick Johnson of Lake Frederick, Virginia went to be with our Lord on Monday, July 8, 2024 at the age of 74. He was born on October 14, 1949 in San Bernardino, California to the late Lloyd and Ada Violet (Hales) Johnson.

Mike graduated from Strayer College in Woodbridge, Virginia. He served our country for 20 years and retired from the U.S. Navy. Mike started his second career with the U.S. Government as an accountant and retired from the Library of Congress in 2012.

Mike was actively involved as a volunteer with Valley Health. He drove kidney patients to dialysis as well as volunteering at the Valley Health Attic. He also volunteered to score for several water volleyball teams in Lake Frederick. Mike could often be seen at Lake Frederick riding his recumbent bike with his infamous big smile.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ken and Steve.

Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pat; his son, Shane Johnson; grandsons, Aidan and Chase Johsnon; and his brother, Bill Johnson.

The family would like to thank INOVA Fairfax Cardiac ICU and Lake Frederick friends for the care and compassion shown to our beloved Mike and his family in his final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mike’s Celebration of Life at the Shenandoah Lodge and Regions 117, 180 Bald Eagle Dr., Lake Frederick, Virginia 22630 on August 7, 2024 from 2-4 pm.
