

Nancy Ann O'Connor (née Hopper) passed away November 1st at the age of 88 in Great Falls, Virginia.
Born on October 8th, 1936, Nancy grew up in the town of Ramsey, New Jersey where she graduated from Ramsey High School in 1954. She continued her education at Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1956. Nancy began her career as a registered nurse before dedicating her life to raising her family in Mahwah, New Jersey. After leaving Mahwah in 1980, she lived in Weston, CT, Danville, CA, and Foxboro, MA.
She married Paul D. O’Connor at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Ramsey NJ on June 7th, 1959, a union that lasted 36 years.
As a tennis enthusiast, she enjoyed both playing and watching the sport. Summers were a special time for her, often spent vacationing with friends and family at Green Pond, NJ and Cape Cod, MA. She had a deep affection for animals and cared for many cats and dogs over the course of her life.
Nancy is survived by, and her memory will live on through her children, Steven O’Connor and spouse, Julia Findlay, Sherry Lyons and spouse, Steve Lyons, and Laura O'Connor-Biancur and spouse, Andrew Biancur Jr.. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Daniel O’Connor, Lauren Birkbeck, Shawn Lyons and Brooke Lyons as well as her great-grandchildren, Graham O’Connor, Nolan O’Connor and Isla Birkbeck.
Nancy is also survived by her siblings, Karen Roemer and spouse Tom Roemer, Virginia Herbert and spouse Jack Herbert, Hal Hopper and spouse Jeannie Hopper; nieces Jennifer, Tracey, Michelle, Debbie, Susan and nephews, Mark and Ken.
Nancy was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Paul D. O’Connor.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 11:00 am at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 55 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey, NJ, followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ASPCA and or the Death with Dignity Organization.
