Robin Adler, beloved wife, sister, aunt, cousin and friend passed away on January 25, 2022. Just 72, she looked and acted much younger than her age. Her joie de vivre, sharp mind and creative energy contributed to her vibrancy and served as a model to many others.
Robin was born on November 16, 1949 in Bronx, NY to Anita Goldman and Murray Adler. Raised in Los Angeles, California, Robin attended UCLA and USC and later realized her dream to become an attorney when she graduated from George Mason Law School with a Juris Doctor degree. Robin practiced divorce and family law in Northern Virginia and the surrounding areas for many years. She was willing to assist any friend with legal advice when asked with no consideration to time or remuneration. Her clients became family and friends.
Robin fought a valiant battle against lung cancer surrounded by her husband Ed Cohen and many loving friends and family. She is survived by her husband Ed, her brothers Frank (Laura), and Glenn (Renee), nieces Gabby, Amy and Abigail, nephew Michael, cousins and countless friends from all chapters of her adventures.
When you met Robin, she could become your friend for life. What might take others years to find out about a person, Robin could get from you in the time it took to check out in a supermarket just by asking all the right questions.
Her writing and communication skills were outstanding. Robin’s emails were worth saving because you knew she had put in serious effort. In person, Robin rarely minced words. She always made clear what she wanted and it was best that you agreed.
Robin was a big presence and will be remembered for her love of life and her zany sense of humor on display when she laughed through the many good times of her life. Her absence is monumental.
Contributions in Robin’s name may be made to the Sibley Hospital Foundation in Washington, DC.
