Barbara Ethridge Snyder

Barbara Ann Ethridge Snyder, 77, of Staunton VA, passed away peacefully at The Legacy at North Augusta on Thursday, September 3, 2026. Born March 27th, 1949 in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Floyd Lee Roy Ethridge, and Anna Elizabeth (Henderson) Ethridge.

A compassionate and kind woman, Barbara exhibited a tremendous love of nature and animals, and enjoyed visiting zoos and parks frequently. She was a loving pet owner, especially to her dogs Apple, and Lilah. She was also an avid nature photographer, primarily of landscapes, insects, and flowers.

Barbara was also an enthusiastic reader, especially historical literature concerning President Abraham Lincoln, and greatly enjoyed music of the 1960s and 1970s.

She is survived by her son Kyle M. Snyder, daughter-in-law Michele L. Snyder, grandson Zayne A. Walker, and granddaughter Zoey L. Snyder, all of Westerville OH. Also survived by her brothers Mack Wayne Ethridge of Stuarts Draft, VA and Arthur Lee Ethridge of Lewes, DE., former husband Arthur Charles Snyder of Waldorf, MD., best friend Mary Ellen Fitzgerald of Venice, FL, and various friends and family members.

No services at this time, but a celebration of life to be held at a later date.
