I never had the pleasure of meeting Tim, but let me tell you. If his son Mike, with whom I work, is any indication of Tim himself, then he was a great man. Mike carries himself with professionalism, integrity, and compassion, and is a genuine pleasure to work with. I can only imagine Tim's values were instilled in all of his other family members as well. My deepest condolences and warmest thoughts to the Hulbert family during this time.

Judy and I always enjoyed seeing Tim at UVa football games. He sat near us and was so proud of his Virginia cap. It was so faded that it had hardly any orange color remaining. RIP Tim

Tim will forever stay in my thoughts. Tim was a great leader and loved to discuss all sports, but especially football rules and games with me.
Tim was a pleasure to work with in our Chamber of Commerce, and made so many strides to bring business and the community together to make this a better place to live for all.
I will always remember Tim kicking off our Chamber meetings and dinners with a few classic jokes that all enjoyed.
My prayers are with Bonnie and Family, and may all of your happy memories carry You all through this sorrowful time.
Bryan Thomas

Tim was a man of tremendous integrity and kindness, who possessed unlimited generosity. We shared stories, laughed at the ridiculous and nonsensical, but we never shied from discussing what was most important to the both of us, our Christian faith. And, of course, he was so very proud of his family’s Irish heritage! Tim’s unquestioned love for the Charlottesville area was known by so many, and he worked tirelessly to strengthen our area’s economic vitality, especially after the Great Recession. Timothy Hulbert was a man of unquestioned character. I will miss Tim; I already do.

Tim was a dedicated citizen of this community and did a wonderful job of leading our Chamber of Commerce. His work did much to support all of our community elements even when there were times of division between the pro growth and no growth faction and the community division over the controversial Charlottesville ByPass!

He was an asset that will be missed but remember by those that had an opportunity to work with him.

Tim "Thank you for your commitment to our community".

Tim and his family were our neighbors in the Greenbrier subdivision for many years. We shared stories ( he had quite a few more than I did) in his front yard, mostly recollections of college basketball over the decades! He and Bonnie were fabulous hosts, serving up delicious dinners !
Charlottesville was fortunate to have his influence during his time here!
We’ll miss you Tim! Jim & Vicki Farmer

Tim was an unapologetic northern leader of our southern community of Charlottesville and Albemarle. He kept his finger on the pulse of everything going on in the community and was true friend of business and business development.
Tim was many things and had great sense of humor. But he was horrible joke teller, yet that didn’t stop him from starting every talk with a joke, resulting in groans from the crowd.
I actually thought about Tim earlier this when I saw that the Hoos were to play his beloved Manhattan Jaspers!

I am truly saddened with the passing of Tim. He was a true friend and mentor for me during my public service. Tim made a major contribution to our City and will always be remembered for his dedication to Charlottesville and everyone of our citizens.

God Bless.

Tim was a legend and will be missed! I really appreciated the fierceness with which he advocated for business in this community which is leadership that is and was desperately needed. He offered great counsel to me and my father on multiple occasions when facing challenging situations. He also raised a fine young man who carries his father's leadership qualities and passion for business and the community.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Tim's passing. I will always remember the warm welcome he extended to me when I began attending the Chamber's Government Relations Roundtable meetings, even though I was the City's new "tax man".

Tim was a warm, gregarious soul, who could light up a room with his wit. He was also a great neighbor, quick to throw up a wave. I am glad I got the opportunity to know him.

My deepest sympathies go out to Bonnie and the rest of Tim's family.

Tim was not only a tremendous community leader but a warm and welcoming guy who made you feel comfortable and “seen” in any meeting or situation. He made himself available when called and was a blessing to each chamber member. My love and prayers for his family.

My condolences to the Family during this unfortunate time. I got to know Tim during my tenure at NBC29 and through my continued years in broadcast/radio attending Chamber events & occasionally running into him on the D.T.M. Tim definitely was a huge contributor to the success of the Chamber with his hard work, creative ideas and his endeavoring attendance to all the local happenings. He will be missed & remembered~ R.I.P. Sir!

Tim had kept a pulse on the community and joined me many times on Charlottesville Right Now on WINA. I appreciated him greatly. He was good in many ways and had a great sense of humor.
Tim left an indelible mark on our community. I was glad to know him and appreciated him greatly.
