

Audrey was born September 1, 1944, in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph (Lipschitz) Landers and Jeanne (Lipschitz (Golden)) Landers. Audrey graduated from Valley Stream North High School, LI, NY, in 1962. She graduated from Ohio University in 1966 with a B.A. in Psychology, and Michigan State University in 1972 with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. In 1972, Audrey became an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Alabama, where she authored and co-authored several research papers. In 1978, she became the Assistant Director of the Virginia State Council of Higher Education. Thereafter for several decades she worked in private practice as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in Richmond,VA.
Audrey loved playing tennis, watching University of Alabama football games on TV, attending Broadway musicals where her mind could recite the lyrics decades later, freshwater crappie fishing, ballroom and Latin dancing, eating out at restaurants, and her family life. Audrey was a great conversationalist with whom people enjoyed chatting. She was member of Congregation Beth Ahabah, Richmond, VA for more than three decades. Audrey made annual monetary contributions to cancer research and cancer treatment facilities.
Audrey is survived by her husband, Robert Pugh of Richmond, VA; brother, Stanley Landers of NY; sister-in-law, Joan Landers; niece, Sara Landers; and nephew, Michael Landers. Audrey will be missed by family, friends, fellow tennis players, former clients, and her husband.
