Barney Lee Bennett

Barney Lee Bennett, 81, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wyatt “Bob” J. Bennett and Grace Brown Bennett; grandparents, Gaiter and Lola Dunford Bennett, and Anthony and Luzetta Bradshaw Brown; sisters, Sharon Parog (Bert) and Judy Arthur; and brother, Tommy Bennett. Survivors include his loving wife, Vicki Bennett; sons, Brian Bennett and Brent Bennett (Cindy); daughter, Brenna Bohatec (Joey); grandchildren, Brooke, Brendon, Ryan, Jace, Jaden, Braelynn, and Bracie; great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Adrian, and Cameron; brother, Charles Bennett (Sue); and sisters, Joan Savilla (Joe) and Nancy McLean (Corky).

Barney proudly served in the United States Air Force Security Service as a Morse code intercept operator, also known as a “Ditty Bopper.” After his Honorable Discharge from the military, he worked for DuPont as a Millwright. He loved fishing and spending time in the great outdoors.
