

Caryl Colvin Pigg, age 87, passed away peacefully August 16, 2019. She was born June 16th, 1932 in New Haven, Connecticut to Dr. Merl and Margaret Colvin. She is preceded in death by her nephew, Doug Hall. Caryl is survived by her sister Janet Colvin Hall (Richard); her three daughters, Patsy Bender, Jennifer Smith, and Betsy Hugenberg (Mark) and son, Jimmie Pigg (Angela); grandchildren, Michael (Emily), Randy Jones (Lindsay), Billy Jones (Carter), Chance Harding (Kasey), Bethany Harding (Thomas), Courtney Burke (Felix), Trey Pigg (Nicole), Jon Pigg (Ashley), Christopher Smith, Matthew Smith (Debbie), Samantha O’Connell (Jake), Gregory Maupin (Traci), Corey, Blake, Kevin, and Caryline Hugenberg; great grandchildren, Marley, Keller, and Logan Jones, Sadie and Ryder Ford, Brennen, Silas, Kinsley, and Elise Pigg, Clyde and Wade Harding, Sophia and Angie Amrhein, Destiny, Matthew Jr., McKenzie, Kylee, and Cole Smith, Taylor, Gabbi, and Annabelle Maupin and a niece (Cindy) and several nephews. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Caryl dedicated over 40 years of her life to the District 13 MX family. She was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association. She is a former member and officer of the Women’s Club of Bon Air and Bon Air Garden Club. She was a member of Bon Air Presbyterian Church since 1962.
Caryl loved to garden and knit. She knitted hats that she would donate to locate hospitals for newborns. If she wasn’t knitting an afghan or hats she was working in her yard. Her hands were rarely still.
For many years Caryl worked Richmond Public School as a cafeteria manager and Micro View Imaging Company.
