David Kirby Collett, age 90, passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2026, in Richmond, Va. He was a retired US Navy LCDM Reserves and a graduate of the University of Louisville, JB Speed School of Engineering.
He is survived by his wife, Fonetta McCoy Collett and his children, David K. Collett, Jr, daughter in law, Susan D. Collett and Melinda S. Collett. His beloved grandchildren Kirby Collett, Anna Lyle Collett, Campbell Collett, Isabel Watkins and Samuel Watkins were very dear to him. David was a life-long Methodist and will be interred at Reveille UMC, Richmond, Va., near his family.
His career included the US Navy, IBM and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
Funeral services will be held on September 19th, 10:00am in the Chapel at Reveille UMC at 4200 Cary St Road, Richmond, Va.
