

Bette was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 6th, 1942, the eldest daughter of the late Anthony & Elizabeth Sokolowski. Bette graduated from St. Stephen High School in 1960 before attending St. Elizabeth Nursing School in Dayton, Ohio. Upon graduating nursing school, Bette worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital as an operating room nurse for 35 years.
Bette met the love of her life, Joseph (aka Ed) McGlynn as they were starting their careers in Dayton, Ohio. Bette and Joe were married April 16th, 1966 in Willowick, Ohio at St. Mary Magdalene Church. Bette is survived by her loving husband of 58 years.
Bette loved watching horse racing, gardening, scrapbooking, and was an avid reader, but her favorite role was being a grandmother to Allison and Ashley. She treasured her time as a loving and devoted grandma to her two favorite people in the whole world and they were the lights of her life.
Bette loved spending time on her beautiful screened porch reading, watching tv and watching the wildlife visit her wonderful backyard. Bette also had a soft spot for her dogs and cats, treating each and every one like the valuable family members that they were.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Elizabeth Sokolowski and is survived by her husband Joseph, sons John & Brian, daughters in-law Melissa and Cathy, sister Janet Planisek, brother Robert Sokolowski, granddaughters Allison & Ashley and nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
