A loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, and friend peacefully departed this life on Tuesday January 10, 2023.
Esther grew up in Fulton Hill, of Richmond Virginia. She later married, and raised her family in Richmond and Henrico County, Virginia. She was down to earth, full of life and would not hold anything back to protect those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse J. Brown; mother and father, Alfonzo, and Anita Thompson; oldest son, Alfred Miles Thompson; older brother and sister, Alfonzo “Bubba” Thompson, and Olivia Thompson; and brother, Freddie Thompson. Left to cherish her memory are her son Jesse M. Brown; daughter, Inga Y. Brown; grandchildren, Tiffany Thompson-Jackson, and Brittany Brown-Price (Donavan); great-grandchild, Jalen M. Jackson; great-grand dog Sir Onix Jackson-Brown-Price; devoted best friend, Marjorie Lee; and devoted nieces, Renee Derricott and Ashley Nash; devoted extended family Billy and Barbara Butler; devoted pastors, Cliff and Vicki Coward.
Esther retired from the Department of Taxation, in Richmond, Virginia after 29 years. She loved her church family and served on the Mother’s Board for Agape International Ministries World Wide (Pastors Cliff and Vicki Coward). As a passionate basketball fan, she knew all the players, all the teams and when all the games were aired. LeBron James was her absolute favorite.
Esther, as she was affectionally known, loved everyone unconditionally. She had numerous friends, family and loved ones and she will be greatly missed. Our family would like to give a special thanks to the Cremation Society of Virginia for their special care and compassion. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on February 4, 2023, 11:00 am, at Agape International Ministries World Wide, 8001 Staples Mill Rd, Richmond, VA 23228.
