Iris Byrd Williams

Iris Byrd Williams, 90, of Richmond, VA went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2026. Born March 20, 1936, Iris lived a life marked by steady devotion, quiet strength, and deep love for those she held closest.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Roth, Sr.; second husband, Walter P. Williams; and fiance, Charles Thayer; children, Charles Roth Jr., Julie Barnett, and Nancy Shumway.

She is survived by her daughter, Terry Seller; grandchildren, Jacob Seller, Natalie Seller, Joseph White, III., David White, Lennon Shumway, Charles Roth, III., and Robert Roth; and a great grandchild, Joseph White, IV.

Iris worked as a bank teller, bringing reliability and care to her work each day. Above all, she loved her family, and that love remained the clearest thread through her life—faithfully given, warmly felt, and enduring. Iris will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
