James Charles Divers

“Colonel” Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Francis Divers, Sr. and Edna Lynch Divers, and his brother, Ronald Wayne Divers.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Deborah; his daughters, Jennifer Jones of Norfolk, Va and Shannon Poole (Matthew) of Willow Spring, NC; his son, Brandon Divers (Jennifer) of Moseley, Va; and eight grandchildren, Ryce, Logan, Brooke, Brett, Ben, Carter, Hudson, and Sheppard. He is also survived by his siblings, Brenda McCloud, Mary Bowles, and Donald Francis Divers, Jr.

From his first job shining shoes to a career spanning decades in the textile and laundry industry, Jim was known for his dedication, determination, and strong work ethic. He built a successful career, ultimately retiring in 2019 as Director of Sales and Marketing for Alsco Uniforms.

Outside of work, Jim was an avid sports fan. Few things could rival his love for Alabama football and NASCAR. Above all, Jim’s greatest pride was his family. As a husband, father, G-Daddy, brother, and friend, he leaves behind a lifetime of lessons, memories, and an example that will live on through those who loved him.
