Jody Lynn Kerns

Jody Lynn Kerns passed away on June 19, 2023, at the age of 64 in Richmond, Virginia. She was a beloved Nana to her five grandchildren, a devoted mother and adored her pets. Jody was an advocate for animal rights throughout her life. Her kind heart and giving spirit brought happiness to all who knew her. She will be missed by so many, and her light will continue to shine.

Jody is survived by her mother, Jenny VanVolkom, her daughter, Corinne Harrison, (Chris), sister, Deborah Blanchard, sister-in-law, Sissie Kerns, step-sister, Chris Ahrend, step-son Robert Parrish, Jr., (Elizabeth) and her grandchildren, Malik, Amari, Alicia, Maya, and Maddox. She also leaves behind nieces, Tina Cunningham, (David), Laura McGhee, (John), nephews, Daniel Blanchard, (Sara), Chris Kerns, (Amy), and many other special family members and friends.

Jody was preceded in death by her father, Dan W. Kerns, Sr., brother, Dan W. Kerns, Jr., sister, Betty Sue Kerns, niece, Sara Kerns, and brother-in-law, Robert Blanchard.

Jody attended Tucker High School and went on to have a successful career at Pocahontas Foods, Mohawk Industries and most fulfilling, as a nanny to her grandchildren.

Memorial services for Jody will be held at Woody Funeral Home-Parham, 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229, on Friday, June 30th, at 6 pm.
