

Kerry Richard Dean, 79, died January 20, 2026, at home in Richmond, Virginia after a well fought battle with cancer. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 16, 1946, To Robert Kelly Dean and Mary Amelia Straub Dean.
Kerry graduated from the University of Maryland in 1969. He joined the US Navy where he earned his wings and flew the F-4 Phantom out of Fighter Squadron VF-11. He left the Navy and went to work for Reynolds Metals/Alcoa where he retired as Operations Manager.
Kerry’s greatest joys were his family and friends. Kerry considered them and his time in the Navy among his greatest accomplishments.
Kerry was a master wood worker and could most often be found in his shop working on his many projects.
Kerry was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Powhatan where he served God as a member of the Building and Grounds Committee. It was Kerry’s abiding faith that saw him through his journey.
Kerry is survived by his wife Rebecca Anderson-Dean, (Becki), their son Timothy Dean (Cindy), daughter Holly Dean Hamersley (John), six grandchildren, Kaylie Dean Danner (Derek), Timothy Dean, II, Abagail-Rose Schlotter Holtman, (Richard), Eve Schlotterer, Darby Schlotter and True Schlotterer. He is also survived by three great granddaughters, Alice, Enola and Delta Danner.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
