

Leon Vaughan Padgett Jr. “L.V.”, 80, of Sussex County, Virginia passed away surrounded by family on Friday March 1, 2024. He was born in Waverly, Virginia and was the son of the late Leon Vaughan Padgett and Ethel Tatum Padgett. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Frances Belshan Hawkins, Maude Burnett, Joyce Stech and Merceil Booth.
L.V. was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Navy. After honorably serving his country, he pursued a life long career as a commercial truck driver. He was a motorcycle and muscle car enthusiast with an increased passion for high horse power and speed. He also loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them as well as his friends.
Those left to carry on his memory include his children, Terry Lee Padgett, Tracy Padgett Roberts (Michael), Kelly Vaughan Byrum (Jeffrey), Brian Lewis Padgett (Michelle) and Michael Adam Padgett; grandchildren, Hunter and Cole Padgett, Shelby Lynn and Brayden Byrum, and Cassadee Padgett; a special close companion, Barbara Padgett as well as many nieces and nephews.
