

Nancy Joan Harris, 86, of Richmond, VA passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, at Bon Secours Hospice House. Born on December 28th, 1938, in La Crosse, WI. Nancy lived a life filled with faith, love, and dedication to her Lord Jesus Christ, her church, family and friends.
Nancy graduated from Aquinas High School in 1956 with a diploma degree. She also attended Western Wisconsin Technical College in La Crosse, WI, earning an associate degree in1977.
She was an executive secretary for Catholic Charities in Wisconsin and Virginia from 1976-1997. Other passions that were important to her were her love of family, traveling, many friendships and church community. Nancy championed the annual ANF Rosary Rally, and Flame of Love Devotion. She also supported multiple pro-life organizations: Mary’s Choice Maternity Home, and Divine Mercy Care. She volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul charity.
She was born to Julius E. Platz and Clara M. Platz (Young)-La Crosse, WI. She married Joe Harvey D “Joe” Harris on 12/26/1994 in Richmond, VA. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Harvey D “Joe” Harris. Her parents Julius and Clara Platz. Also, her siblings; Shirley (Bob) Pretasky, Sally (Gerald) Renstrom. Sister-in-Law Norma Platz.
She is survived by 6 children: Kathy (Randall) Weakley, Mike (Julie) Glotz, Gary (Tammy) Glotz, Sue (Dean) Piccirilli, Peggy(Steve)Bobick, Paul (Nina) Glotz. Stepdaughter Lisa (William)White. She is also survived by 14 Grand Children and 15 Great Grand Children (2 more on the way). Brothers, Jim Platz and Roy (Carol) Platz.
Services will be at St. Michael’s The Archangel Catholic Church, 4491 Springfield Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23060 on Wednesday December 10th,2025. Visitation 930am. Rosary 10am. Funeral Mass 10:30 A.M, followed by internment in the Columbarium. Luncheon to follow in the social hall.
