

Roger Lee Davis, 75, of Prince George departed this life on March 7, 2021. Known for his love of family, sense of humor and love of singing, Roger passed away at home with his family surrounding him. An avid hunter all his life, he was a member of Supony Creek Hunting Club, loved fishing and working in his garden. We will miss him singing his favorites at the American Legion Post 146, watching his races and games at the HBC, and laughing with family as they came by to hang out in the yard.
The 9th child of 13 children of the late John R. Davis and Mattie Simpkins; he was also preceded in death by brothers Charles Davis and Bobby (Monkey) Davis; sisters Margaret Townes, Marian Loftis, Paige Hopkins and Shirley Foster; 7 half brothers and sisters.
Roger leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Ruth Tennant Davis; son Robert Lee Davis (Sara), daughters Rhonda Denzler (Mark) and Sherri Harvey (Chris); 2 grandsons, 9 granddaughters, 4 great grandchildren. Also, his brother Glen Davis (Jackie); sisters Byrd Harris, Estelle Lifsey, Betty Veseley, Mildred Brown (Thomas); and Nancy Zehm, and many nieces and nephews plus other family members and friends.
Born and raised in Hopewell, VA. Roger and his family have lived in Prince George County for the past 41 years. Retired from Honeywell after 38 years in 2003.
Roger served in the US Air Force and was a Legionnaire of Hopewell American Legion Post 146.
A “Celebration of his Life” will be held at his home on Saturday, April 10, 2021 for his family and friends. In Lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity in Roger’s name would be greatly appreciated.
