

Born on February 6, 1948, Ronald’s life was grounded in hard work, family and time spent with lifelong friends. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic School before going on to graduate from Highland Springs High School. After high school, he attended Virginia Commonwealth University earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
Ronald served honorably in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he channeled his dedication and entrepreneurial spirit into founding JMD Construction Company, INC., where he worked tirelessly to build a lasting legacy.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Marion McDonald; his daughter Kara McDonald; son-in-law Douglas White; and granddaughters Helen Cecelia (9) and Evelyn Mae (4). He is also remembered by his brother Jimmy McDonald, and sister-in-law Debbie, along with their daughters Sally May and Anna McLemore and their families. As well as, his sister Barbara Crawford, brother-in-law John, and their daughter Cecelia.
Ronald was predeceased by his mother and father, Helen and Donald McDonald.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ronald cherished time spent on the Rappahannock River boating and fishing. He was known for his warmth and ability to connect with people from all walks of life. His lifelong group of close friends became an extended family that brought him great joy throughout the years.
A celebration of life and gathering of friends and family will be planned for a later date.
