Sarah Smith Murphree

She was born in Greenville, SC on June 6, 1951 to Sarah A. Smith and Mitchell H. Smith. She attended Greenville General Hospital School of Nursing before starting her career as a nurse. Later she studied early childhood education and dedicated her life and career to caring for others whose lives were changed through the loving care she provided. Sarah took special joy in being a wife, mother and grandmother while showing her love through her cooking and giving to others.

Sarah is preceded in death by her parents and survived by her husband of 50 years, Gary Murphree Sr., her sister, Mitzy Hill, her children, Jo Beth Devore (Zachary), Mary Ann Levkoff (Seth), Gary Murphree Jr., (Crystal Cassidy), and her grandchildren, Charlotte Levkoff, and Emilia Levkoff. They will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

A celebration of life and memorial service is Wednesday, November 12th at Lakeside United Methodist Church. The service is at noon followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.
