Wade was born August 11, 1944 in Richmond, VA to Wade Mason Ogg, Jr and Virginia Delp Ogg. He was the first of their four children. Growing up he split his time between their home in Richmond’s West End and their cottage in Edwardsville, VA. He graduated from Douglas Freeman High School in 1962 and attended his father’s alma mater, Virginia Tech, earning a degree in Business. Upon graduation he worked in New York City for Shell Oil, before returning to Richmond as a plant manager for Prillaman Chemical Company. He had a love for his condominium in Virginia Beach where he spent summers until 2024 returning to his home in Richmond. Upon retirement from Prillaman he earned his real estate license and worked for Long & Foster Realtors for many years.
Wade had many friends in both Richmond and Virginia Beach with whom he enjoyed sharing his love of the theater, books, museums, time on the Chesapeake Bay, travelling, dinner parties, and dining out. He shared his life with many treasured pets that he treated like royalty.
Wade is survived by his sister, Nancy Ogg Tripp, his nieces and nephews, Michelle Turner, Jerry Turner, Jr (Karen), Bryan Ogg, Brandy Edwards (Ron), and Kimberly Jones, his great niece and nephews, ChrisTripp (Holly), Justin Tripp (Trish), Mischa Turner (Hope), Jerry Page Turner, Trenton Edwards, Gabrielle Ogg, Mason Jones, and Walker Jones as well as his great-great nieces and nephew, Skylar Tripp, Saylor Tripp, Kaden Edwards, Cadence Turner, and Jordyn Tripp. He is also survived by his first cousins Steve Ogg (Patsy), Cliff Ogg (Kathy), and Victoria Delp Hug (Jeff) as well as a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Dick and Sam Ogg, and his first cousin Wiley Ogg, Jr, as well as many dear friends he had along the way.
As per his wishes, no memorial service will be held but we hope that many cocktail parties including vodka tonics will be held in his honor.
