

was born November 2, 1952 in New York, New York, and departed this life on March 24,2025.
Yvonne was born to the late McKinley Collins and Annie Sims Collins. She leaves to cherish her lovely wife, Ivett Rodriguez Collins; three sisters, Selena Collins Peters, St. Maarten Antilles, Jennifer Collins Cannon (Thomas Cannon, Jr.), Richmond, VA, and Lillian Collins Williams ( Dennis C. Williams), Malvern, PA; half brother, Renee McKinley Collins; two nephews, Anthony Collins Peters and Reginald Aaron Williams; many cousins and scores of friends. Special mention friends are Joe and Deborah Odom, Sharon Daniel, Rita Lee, William and Karen Taylor, Theresa Caporale, Marsha Collins, and Gina Pugh.
Yvonne was raised primary in West Hempstead, and attended Malvern Elementary School, from Kindergarten through Eighth Grades, on Long Island, New York.
She attended the same all girls high school that her mother, Annie Sims Collins, went to, Washington Irving High School and School of Nursing in Manhattan, New York. Yvonne graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked at NYU and Mt. Sinai Hospitals in New York, New York prior to enlisting into the United States Army as a Patient Care and Medical Specialist. Yvonne served her country for eleven years and was Honorably Discharged from Army.
She served in Okinawa, Japan, Seoul, Korea, and during the Vietnam Era, and was awarded the following for her service to the United States Army:

Yvonne played basketball when she was in the Army, as a Center, where she travelled extensively to California, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, and up and down the East Coast of the United States.
Yvonne was very kind and giving individual. Always reaching out to help people in her community with home renovations, fixing cars, baby sitting, taking children to the library, and helping them with homework.
God has given her wings to proceed to her heavenly home, but she will be truly missed here on earth!
